Ace Hardware formerly True Value of Buena Vista, Colorado. If you’re Black, Latino, or Native American don’t bother spending your money here. They’ve got some serious racial profiling going and are rude and disrespectful. They make you feel very uncomfortable. It’s unbelievable that in this day and age there are businesses that employ people of this nature, It’s disappointing and disgusting.
Took in a 30 lb propane tank with approximately 2 gallons in it. Just wanted to top off. Almost did not bring as plenty. Went to pay and was charged for a completely empty tank.

I've been painting my office and have had to come in several times to get white paint. I accidentally grabbed two cans of paint that were the wrong base. I came in and switched them out for the correct ones. I go back in today to get my last cab and the same lady who helped me previously asked me if I had the right one and said, "Are you sure you got the right one, because I got in trouble last time for you getting the wrong ones."
I've worked in customer service most of my life including now managing many businesses. One thing you never do is blame the customer and make them feel bad for making a mistake regardless if you got in trouble. I said back, "well mistakes happen."
The lady has short brown hair and is probably in her 50's. The initials on my receipt is JTM. I highly recommend letting her know that it's not good customer service to point out she got in trouble for a simple mistake. I had my receipt to exchange the paint, and had literally just bought it a few hours before exchanging it. I had only opened one and realized the color wasn't the same.
I will continue to shop here, but will avoid her checks from now on.
